IP network video surveillance

IP video surveillance equipment has become the preferred solution for new surveillance installations as well as upgrades to legacy CCTV systems. Whether for protection of assets, personnel or monitoring the operations of a manufacturing facility, intelligent IP-based video surveillance provides features and capabilities well beyond traditional analog camera systems.

With the development of megapixel video cameras, image quality and resolution has taken a major leap forward that allows for fewer cameras capturing more information that can be analyzed in more detail than was ever available from analog systems. Features such as electronic pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) replace the need for expensive mechanically driven cameras of the past. Instead of scanning an area with an analog camera, a multi-lens megapixel camera can capture the entire 180 or 360 degree panorama dramatically increasing the surveillance data for live view or after-the-fact analysis.

Project Management

Design

Deployment of a wireless network requires careful planning including objective definition and thorough site surveys. Wireless Networks can be complicated to implement in high interference areas and be incompatible with existing equipment. WLANs are best used in addition to - rather than a replacement of wired networks. Our engineers will assure proper planning when designing and implementing your wireless network. The complexity of your network will vary depending on the obstacles within and the size of your facility.

Site Surveys

Prior to installing any wireless devices we perform a radio frequency (RF) test in order to better understand the behavior of radio waves within a facility. This is recommended because various obstacles such as doors, walls, elevator shafts and people might affect the radio frequency pattern, causing it to be irregular and unpredictable. Even if you are using omni-directional antennas, radio waves do not travel the same distance in all directions. The RF test can also detect any radio interference that might come from other sources and could affect the performance of the wireless LAN negatively. The ultimate goal of the site survey and RF test is to help determine the number and placement of the access points.

Installation

DCT will deploy our team of experts to install the wireless solution to the most current industry standards, from the physical layer to the logical layer. Post Survey

Once the turn-key design and installation is complete, DCT will perform a post survey to record signal strength of the new network thus eliminating dark areas. WiFi / WLAN Network Design / Engineering
